  • Aesthetic vs. Green Conflict: The development, located in a prestigious area, has extremely strict planning and aesthetic guidelines. Traditional, bulky solar panels were explicitly prohibited to preserve the community’s historical character and high-end feel.
  • Aging Roof & Rising Costs: The existing luxury roof was nearing the end of its lifespan, and the owner was facing rising electricity bills, especially during Hangzhou’s long, hot summers. A full reroofing was imminent.

  • Integrated BIPV Tiles: Sunlit provided Lumina Slate BIPV tiles, which are designed to be visually identical to traditional stone slate roofing. They emulate the exact texture and color while functioning as a high-efficiency solar power system, completely removing the aesthetic barrier.
